Thanks for reading, Melville. I think you're right. There's always a risk of banality whenever a philosophy is popularized. Heidegger called it a "leveling-down" that "obscures" genuineness. Then again, if philosophy fails to address public concerns, it risks its own demise. I suppose what I'm saying (in this regard, at least) is that popularization, as such, isn't the problem... commodification is. Cheers!
